Short Biography
Currently, I am a researcher at iDiv with focus on spatial analysis and modelling of soil systems from regional to global scales. Since starting at iDiv I have co-lead WP2 of ECOPOTENTIAL: improving future ecosystem benefits through earth observations, and now I am co-leading a group on Soil Biodiversity and Functions and the Global Soil Biodiversity Observation Network. As a result of an extended collaboration between iDiv and the group of experts in scenario development from the Inter-governmental Panel for Biodiversity and Ecosystem Services, I am also involved in the first Biodiversity and Ecosystem services Model Intercomparison Panel where I am responsible for future projections of soil erosion and soil biodiversity and functions. In parallel to these activities, I have mentored several PhD, Master and Graduate students, and have co-authored >30 peer-reviewed scientific publications (September 2019: h-index=14, 1024 citations, Google Scholar).
